On behalf of our school, I am pleased to present this report about the specialist visit of our friends from the kopernikus Gymnasium Bargteheide (KGB) GERMANY , the visits included a group of students Accompanied by some of their teachers and parents as well.
During their stay, a number of exchange learning activities were conducted, they were taught the Kiswahili language, were really interested with the lessons, while we were given lessons in the Germany language. And we were really enjoying it well also, this created wonderful opportunity for both groups to share culture and communication skills.
In addition, our Germany friends took part in practical activities within our school, they learning how to plant seedling in the school Garden, and they also gained knowledge about our school projects such as poultry keeping and cattle rearing, they even planted trees in our BARGTEHEIDE GARDEN, which marked a memorable moment of our environmental care and friendship. They also participated in sports and games with our students, which strengthened social interaction and team work, furthermore, they joined cooking activities and learned how to prepare local food such as MAKANDE (A mixture of maize and beans).
The visitors expressed great appreciation for the clean and beautiful environment of our school and they were also impressed by the friendliness of our students and the warm way they received and interacted with them. Our students, also enjoyed socializing and creating strong bonds with their fellow students from Germany.
The visits further included educational tours outside the school, on their first trip, they went to NGEREYANI, a place where the Maasai people live, these learned much about the traditional lifestyle and culture of the Maasai community, and climbed mount kisimiri, which is located near Mount Meru. On their second trips, they went to ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK together with our students to see various animals such as giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, warthogs, etc.
Other highlights of their visit were the form four graduation ceremony, during which a fundraising event was held to purchase a school tractor which cost Tshi 40 million that will help to simplify farming activities in our school farms and garden as well, our German friends generously contributed Tshi 1.8million out of 40 million toward this important project, which was highly appreciated by the entire school community. We thank for their contributions toward what they have donated even though the mission was not accomplished, however, slowly we believe that God will give us other supporters to complete this important mission in our school
This visit was very fruitful and strengthened the friendship between our school and our GERMANS partners, it helped us exchange culture, languages and knowledge in various fields, we look forward to more such opportunities in the future, also the group was much interested by the project of togetherness like the support of the girls from the poor families to attained their educational goal.
